Happy New Year!

Bah it's been a while. I should make it one of my new years resolutions to update more. I did go boxing day shopping but I'm still going to go shopping one more time so I'm going to wait before posting up a collective haul.

On Tuesday I went downtown to hang out with some friends. We went skating by the lake and then we went out to eat. I didn't fall at all even though the ice was so bumpy. We went to Harbourfront Centre to skate and there were a lot of people there!

Here's a picture of the Lake, it was really grey and cold that day but I still thought the water looked nice.

We went to a place nearby called Ichiban Sushi for dinner and I ordered a bento box with salmon teriyaki and tempura. It was pretty good but I've had better tempura. It was kind of expensive though, I think I'll try a different restaurant next time. They also give you some ice cream, which we didn't get to choose, we just got green tea ice cream but they served it in these really cool bowls which I took a picture of! I think I amuse myself too easily x.x

Here's a picture of our shoes haha. We were trying to make a star but it was too dark and all of us were wearing dark coloured shoes. I'm the one with the converse at the bottom. You can barely see anything. It sure gets dark quickly in Toronto now.

There was also a large Shoppers Drug Mart nearby so I had to go take a look. I had lost my favourite Softlips in Strawberry Sherbert the week before so I had to buy a new one. I'll include pictures in a collective haul post. Softlips were $5 plus 300 bonus points so I made sure I picked one up in Tangerine Temptation. My sister helped me choose it, she has some kind of a orange fetish right now haha. It smells really good but I think they might have reformulated it since the tingle it gives my lips is really different. I don't know how to describe it aha. I still love it though. I also bought a Terry's Chocolate Orange. Normally they're $5 but they were on sale for 2.49! So I had to pick one up since they're so good.

Now to split the chocolate orange you have to whack it. I was never good at this. I whacked it a couple of times on my desk but when I opened it I was such a fail.

Only 3 pieces came off! What a fail I am. So I tried again.

Still no luck. I whacked it against my desk again and only one piece got looser.

I did it like 10 more times and it came to this. I tired so I gave up and just ate it with my sister. Better than nothing. It tasted great. These are like my favourite chocolates but they're so expensive for me.

Anyway enough with my fail, hope you have a Happy New Year and a wonderful 2011!

Fixing Broken Eyeshadow

During the summer my sister bought me the Stila It Girl Palette and I was overjoyed! But then after I used it the first time I accidentally dropped it and all the eyeshadows were fine except for Kitten! So I fixed it not along ago. For those who don't know, you can fix broken powder products with rubbing alchol. Since this was my first time it was super messy! I did end up getting the loose shadow everwhere but I had a sample jar from Sephora and I kept the loose shadow in there.

This is how it looked like. You can see the loose shadow everywhere and how crushed up the shadow looks. I too off the loose shadow and put it in
the Sephora container like I said before and left it for a bit so that most of the alcohol would evaporate. Then I put a tissue with a jar on it so that it will be flatter when it is completely dry.
Now this is how it looks with the loose shadow in the container.

Yay! Now it's fixed! It doesn't look perfect but better than nothing! The shadows in this palette are buttery smooth but they are packed kinda loosely so I guess I have to be more careful in the future with them. It looks slightly darker as a loose shadow in the container but nonetheless when used it's the same =)

I seem to have the worst luck because the next day low and behold. I dropped my Benefit Cream Eyeshadow in RSVP! I was so upset because that's my favourite eyeshadow base. I was scared I didn't have a container for it and that it would dry up. I don't mind going out to get the full sized version because it's on 22 bucks and I love it so much. This was from the Benefit To Go set I think, but I think I'm going to grab the full sized when I have time. Or maybe get one in a different colour. This is how the jar looked like when it smashed. Sorry for the lighting, don't know what happened. I had already taken out the cream eyeshadow by this time.

I had a jar from my Korres lip butter so I put it all in their. Hopefully it won't dry up too quickly. It looks like this now.

It was a bit messy but nonetheless I still have my cream shadow! Hopefully I'll have time to go pick up a full size since school is seriously killing me now!

Ok this was a pretty long post. I hope I don't break anything anymore. Oh well, toodles.

Karmin Giveaway by Agnes from Pinkbox MakeUp!

First haul in a while

Well not really? I've been on a no buy, I've decided to save my money until I get another job, just because I don't have that much x.x I spend way to much on make up. Anyway I stopped by Shoppers Drug Mart and I wanted to pick up a dry shampoo since my was almost done and I can't live without that stuff anymore! But they didn't have any! I looked all over the place so in the end I found the Tresemme Foam Shampoo and that requires no water! I was seriously intrigued! It's was on sale for 5 bucks too so I thought why not. I haven't tried it yet, but when I do I hope it's good because it's a pretty big bottle and I don't want all of it to go to waste.

I also happened to find the Stila Travel Palettes when I went to check out! They're $13 CDN or $10US but nonetheless still a great deal. They come with 4 eyeshadows and a Stila Convertible Colour, which I love. I only have one in Orchid but I'm hoping to expand my collection because they are awesome! I will provide swatches later with another Stila palette I have since it's night and they don't show up so well on camera right now. Really need to find my Nikon Coolpix but I can't find it anywhere.

Good night~
