Topshop at Yorkdale

Have all of you Canadians been to the new Topshop that opened at Yorkdale? I went there 2 days ago and the clothes were so nice and out of my price range haha. I did take a look around and they have some beautiful clothes. I am currently on a shopping ban so I didn't buy anything (great will power!). Some of the displays were quite pretty. My only complaint is that it's a little bit dark inside and the music was a little bit loud.

Isn't this dress pretty? I took a picture of it inside the store with my phone, hence the mediocre quality. It was one of the things that caught my eyes. Too bad I have nothing to wear it to or else I would have bought it on the spot.

What's In My Make Up Bag?

I keep a make up bag with me everyday for touch ups at school, you never know when some eyeliner might get smudged or when your face gets a little bit oily. Here's what I bring with me to school everyday, excluding my powder. I use a Monokuro Boo make up bag that was gifted to me by my good friend for my birthday a while ago. As you can probably see, it's a bit beaten up since I just throw it into my bag everyday. I love pigs and Monokuro Boo is my favourite cute character out there because I love Monochromatic things.

What's in my Bag:
The Body Shop Lavender Blotting Sheets
GOSH Cosmetics Soft n Shine Lip Balm in Irony (Peach)
Revlon Make Up Eraser Pen
Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Brown
TooFaced Retractable Kabuki Brush
Physicians' Formula Eye Booster Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Brown
MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink (bottom right corner)

Eye of the Day - Bronze Look

I played around with some settings on my camera and just look at how clear that is! Yeah I know, I have a lot of stray hairs but after I saw this photo and took off my make up I immediately fixed that haha. It looks really yellow here because it was the end of the day and I couldn't get good lighting but overall I'm quite happy with how it turned out on my camera because this was after about 10 hours of wear.

Products Used:
Urban Decay Pimer Potion
Covergirl Exact Eyelights Eeye Shadow for Brown Eyes (Bronze)
Revlon Colorstay Eye Shadow Quad in Coffee Bean (Dark Brown)
Maybelline Gel Liner in Blackest Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero
Maybelline Colossal Waterproof in Black

Eye of the Day: Sliver and Black

I realized that I'm a terrible photographer when it comes to taking eye pictures. My hands are shaky and I'm not very good at making the camera focus well enough to pick up everything. I'm also not very good with eye make up, I just like sharing my love for make up haha. I thought one of my recent eyes of the day was pretty decent so I decided to share. In the picture above, I really do like how the camera managed to pick up the light reflecting off the base I used.

Products Used:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow/Liner in RSVP
Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eyeshadow Quad in Sultry Smoke (Matte Black only)
Maybelline Gel Liner in Blackest Black
Maybelline Colossal Waterproof in Black
Taiwanese Shimmer Stick in White
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil

Something Cool+More

Sorry guys, I'll start updating more, it's just that I have enrolled in prep school for the summer to prepare for my senior year next year and it's been keeping me busy! Also blogger wouldn't let me upload my photos which is weird. I'll be updating a lot of posts from now on from posts which I was suppose to post in July but couldn't.

I was downtown a few days after the opening of the last Harry Potter movie (it was so good, I cried!) and when I was leaving at Union Station I saw a really cool vending machine!

It dispenses clothes! It's from Mark's Workhouse so it was women's clothes but it was still pretty cool. It had a lot of shirts in different sizes and designs rolled up inside it dispenses the clothes from the bottom. I thought it was a really cool concept. What if buying clothes in the future was like this? Since it was about 11PM at night I only got to take a quick picture on my phone and I didn't get to see how much the shirts cost but I still thought it was kind of cute.

I also went to see a permiere of Captain America the day before it came out. I did quite like the movie but my highlight was the 3D glasses they gave us. They were limited edition 3D glasses and they sure made me smile. I usually throw out my 3D glasses after a movie because I have no use for them after but these ones I kept!

They had red frames and were quite a fun upgrade from the normal ones that you get at the theatre!

This was just a random and non beauty related post, I just thought I'd share these two fun things with you guys!

Review: Neutrogena Anti Residue Shampoo

I've been experiencing some build up in my hair and it's been really bothering me because my hair feels a lot oilier and I feel the need to wash it more when I really shouldn't I heard about this shampoo on some other blogs so I decided to try it. I bought this at Shopper's Drug Mart for about $10 which is a little pricey, but considering the fact that it's only for once a week use, I believed that it would be worth it and last a while.

Right now since I don't use many products in my hair (only shampoo, conditioner and serum), I opted to use it once every 2 weeks instead of one. I've used it for about 2 months now and I use about a palm full on my chest length hair. My very first thought about it was that it smells really strong. At first I was overcome by the smell and although it's not entirely bad, it was really strong and I was taken aback at first. It smells a bit like medicine and does not lather as well as other shampoos I have used.

After I rinsed out the shampoo and used conditioner, my hair felt really clean. I couldn't feel any more build up in my hair. My hair usually gets oily in a day and my hair felt clean even after 2 days. I used it a few more times in the next few weeks and it hasn't made my scalp itchy or given me dandruff like some other shampoos do.

I really do recommend this product to anyone who uses a lot of hair products and feels build up in their hair often. It does what it's suppose to do really well although to anyone I recommend it to I will warn them about the smell!

Lip Gloss Dupe?

My favourite everyday lip is a nude lipstick with a cherry red gloss on top. It makes a nice peachy colour and that looks natural and it matches with almost everything. My favourite cherry red gloss was Kat Von D's Sheer Lightning Sheer Lip Gloss in Fierce Red but I can't find it online anymore and I believe it's been discontinued. The problem I had with this was that the tube kept leaking so I couldn't bring it around with me for touch ups anymore without making a mess. I have recently found a dupe for it in the Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss Beauty Rush in Dandy Cane. It's less sheer than the Kat Von D one but it smells really nice and is slightly cheaper (I bought the Kat Von D gloss for $10 on sale at Sephora and the Beauty Rush one for $7 at Victoria's Secret).

My only complaint is that the Beauty Rush Gloss is in a tube and I find it more sanitary to use a doe foot applicator than using the tube itself on my lips.

BB Cream Swatches

I think most people by now know what BB Cream is. It's a foundation with all sorts of skincare properties that originated from Europe and is very popular in Korea. I own 3 BB Creams while my sister owns 2. The ones I own are the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, Skin79 Dream Girls BB Cream and the Dr.Jart Black Label. My other sister took my Dr.Jart Black Label one so I'll try to find it later to take a swatch of. My sister also owns the Skinfood one and the Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm Triple Functions one. If you're wondering why it's misspelled as "Beblesh," it's because in Korea the word "Blemish" is trademarked by another company.

The Swatches I have here are the Skin79 Triple Functions one, the Missha Perfect Cover (in #23) and the Skin79 Dream Girls BB Cream.

From left to right: Skin79 Super+ Triple Functions BB Cream, Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream (in #23) and Skin79 Dream Girls BB Cream.

Name Change

Just a heads up, I'm going to be changing the name of this blog and doing a revamp of the layout. I just never put any effort into it and I just didn't like it. My exams are over and it's summer time so I will be posting up a lot of a posts, I'm in the process up editing and tagging pictures right now for quite a few reviews and stuff so look out for that.

I've changed it to Glasses Girl because I do wear glasses, they're kind of my trademark because I am a twin and people tell my sister and I apart by the fact that I wear glasses and she doesn't. I do like to collect glasses things for fun so I thought it would be suitable for this blog.

Thanks for reading!

Things I'm Lusting

Sorry for the disappearance! Had something I really needed to attend to first. Boohoo.

But I've been really into summer and spring fashion lately so I've compiled some things that I've been really lusting after!

1. Floral Romper - when rompers first came out I didn't like them all that much, all I thought was about how you kind of half to take off the whole thing when you go bathroom LOL But now I see them as something cute and practical in the summer. In the spring you can just throw a cardigan over it and voila! Instant cute outfit.

2. Black Tube Skirt - this isn't really a summer/spring thing, but I really want one haha, it would be very versatile and cute and I think I can match it with a lot of tops.

3. Denim Shirt - These have been all the rage lately, I think they're a great thing to throw on on cooler days and you can match it with a lot of accessories. Also great for casual days.

4. Sheet Blouse - I've been really lusting after one of these too. They seem great for a nice breezy day out and they're not too warm and look really nice. Of course I'd have to wear a tank top underneath!

5. I've been really wanting a new pair of flats, I have a pair of black ones but it's got these gigantic gems on them and I find them too gaudy for everyday wear. I kind of want a nude one and a black one, they're both super cute!

6. Armor Ring - I've been seeing these around tumblr a lot and I think they're really cute. They make your fingers look longer and can be a great addition to any outfit. I need one asap!!!

7. Sailor Shorts - I saw these and fell in love! I love the stripes and the double buttons, super cute and they look great for summer. I would totally wear these on a day at the beach.

8. Cameo Ring - I've been seeing a lot of these to on blogs and youtube and I think they're really chic and vintage looking. I'm rather find of finding a bigger one that will stand out more bvecause I love the cameo design on the front!

9. Red High Waisted Shorts - I've been getting into colour lately, my wardrobe mostly consists of very black and white things but I've really been attracted to bright reds. I found this picture on google and I fell in love! I love how they stand out and again, the double buttons, I have a fondness for that haha

10. Lace Leggings - I've been meaning to get myself a pair for a while now, I think they look very stylish with shorts and the designs look really pretty and elegant. Not really something I'd wear during the summer though, what if my legs tan like the design?!!

Anyway that's it for this post, I have an OOTD coming up but I need to upload it from my camera. My old one gave out a while ago so I've been using my family one, it's a better camera but since everyone uses it, it's kind of hard for me to get my hands on it haha.

Orange Lips?

I absolutely love orange'y peachy lips. I think they're great and flattering apart from the typical pink or red lips. Since spring is coming up, I think they're perfect for everyday looks. I especially love peachy lips during the summer. I own 4 peachy/orange lip colours.

First the one at the top is Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Crush, it's more orange'y than the others and I love how becomes more of a peach colour when it shows up on my lips. It's not drying or moisturizing but I do like. But since it's more matte I like to layer a gloss over it.

Next is Revlon Colorburst in Peach. This one is pretty popular. Unfortunately since my lips are kind of pigmented it doesn't really show up well on lips. Nonetheless sometimes when my lips aren't so dark I like to throw this on because I love the colour and how it's more moisturizing than other lipsticks I have tried. It's more of a natural peach and that's why I like

The one at the side a gloss and it's also pretty popular. It's the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Life's a Peach. I love these lip glosses! They have great pigmentation and they're not too sticky and they're long lasting. Life's a Peach is nice peachy colour with gold glitter in it, it doesn't feel gritty at all. A very flattering shade, alone or on top of a lipstick.

Next 2 is Covergirl's Natureluxe Gloss Balm in Coral. This is my favourite peachy lip colour right now. It's small and portable and easy to ship out to apply when you're on the go. It's very buildable. The first swatch I swiped it 5 times on my hand, the second time I swatched it about 10 times. On your lips it gives it a light peach tint and it also has some glitter but again, not gritty. It's pretty moisturizing which a great plus because of my dry lips and it gives them a glossy finish so there're no need for gloss or anything. I will do a separate review of this in the next few days with lip swatches and everything.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Until next time xoxo

Long Time No See + Haul

Yea, I know, I've been so bad and I didn't post anything for a while. This is really bad. I had exams in January and I was so swamped and then I have a competition going on right now which is also taking up a lot of time. But I'm updating now and I'll be updating more for sure in the future now that I have a lot of spare time. Now I've had a recent haul, or a series a small hauls that I didn't post up. Mostly clothes though, I haven't really been buying beauty related things since I've been lazy (bad bad bad!). I was going to do a review on the Covergirl Natureluxe Gloss Balms but I lost the one I had in Marble so I'm just testing out the other one which is in coral. It will be out for sure sometime this week.

This was from today at Urban Outfitters, I looked through their sale section and I was so happy when I found this! I've been eyeing this bag for a long time because it's so cute but I thought $42 was too much for it. But today I managed to find it for only $20! I was so happy. On the Urban Outfitters site it's $24.99 now which is still more than what I bought instore. And that's in US dollars I believe. You see it right here.

Next I bought this blush from Urban Outfitters for $16. It's on the Sephora site in a set with 2 lip glosses but it's not in store and I wanted it really badly because I saw swatches of what a nice coral shade it is. I've tried it once after I took a picture of it and the gold over spray was gone right away. It's a really nice natural colour and I love it. I was also thinking of getting the Physician's Formula Happy Booster one but it's so expensive compared to this one, it was like $20 I believe? I'll have to check again. Damn you Canadian pricing!

This shirt is Talula from Aritzia. I got it for $20. It's very warm and comfy and I really like wearing it at home.

I got this shirt at Urban Planet, a lot of Urban Planets are having closing sales and I managed to snag this for only $5. Lace has been really popular lately. It's very elegant and I really like how the shoulders were a bit scrunched with the lace. It looks really nice matched with a statement necklace.
This is actually a black cardigan, I think the flash washed it out a bit. It was from Bluenotes and it was $15. It's very comfy and warm and I wear it a lot now.
I got this cardigan from Forever21 for about $21. Varsity style clothing seem to be really in right now and I couldn't pass up on this cute cardigan. It's not very warm so I always have to wear something underneath. I think it's better for warmer weather.

This is a bad cellphone pic I took when my camera wasn't readily available haha. I bought a pair of American Eagle tights for only $5! Such a good steal. I also bought the L'oreal Studio Secrets Primer because I haedr it worked really well and I was curious. Really expensive though, about $15. Since Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipsticks were on sale I bought one in Metallic Mauve for about $3. I really like the colour and these lipsticks are actually moisturizing!

Another crappy cellphone pic. I bought two necklaces off a girl on Facebook. They're both really pretty. The key necklace is really nice and has a lot of pretty charms on it. The glasses necklace has become my new favourite necklace, it's so easy to match clothes plus it's really cute.

I have some more goodies to show you but I think I will do it in another post tomorrow. Happy Valentine's Day everyone, or Single Awareness Day haha.

Happy New Year!

Bah it's been a while. I should make it one of my new years resolutions to update more. I did go boxing day shopping but I'm still going to go shopping one more time so I'm going to wait before posting up a collective haul.

On Tuesday I went downtown to hang out with some friends. We went skating by the lake and then we went out to eat. I didn't fall at all even though the ice was so bumpy. We went to Harbourfront Centre to skate and there were a lot of people there!

Here's a picture of the Lake, it was really grey and cold that day but I still thought the water looked nice.

We went to a place nearby called Ichiban Sushi for dinner and I ordered a bento box with salmon teriyaki and tempura. It was pretty good but I've had better tempura. It was kind of expensive though, I think I'll try a different restaurant next time. They also give you some ice cream, which we didn't get to choose, we just got green tea ice cream but they served it in these really cool bowls which I took a picture of! I think I amuse myself too easily x.x

Here's a picture of our shoes haha. We were trying to make a star but it was too dark and all of us were wearing dark coloured shoes. I'm the one with the converse at the bottom. You can barely see anything. It sure gets dark quickly in Toronto now.

There was also a large Shoppers Drug Mart nearby so I had to go take a look. I had lost my favourite Softlips in Strawberry Sherbert the week before so I had to buy a new one. I'll include pictures in a collective haul post. Softlips were $5 plus 300 bonus points so I made sure I picked one up in Tangerine Temptation. My sister helped me choose it, she has some kind of a orange fetish right now haha. It smells really good but I think they might have reformulated it since the tingle it gives my lips is really different. I don't know how to describe it aha. I still love it though. I also bought a Terry's Chocolate Orange. Normally they're $5 but they were on sale for 2.49! So I had to pick one up since they're so good.

Now to split the chocolate orange you have to whack it. I was never good at this. I whacked it a couple of times on my desk but when I opened it I was such a fail.

Only 3 pieces came off! What a fail I am. So I tried again.

Still no luck. I whacked it against my desk again and only one piece got looser.

I did it like 10 more times and it came to this. I tired so I gave up and just ate it with my sister. Better than nothing. It tasted great. These are like my favourite chocolates but they're so expensive for me.

Anyway enough with my fail, hope you have a Happy New Year and a wonderful 2011!
