Eye of the Day: Sliver and Black

I realized that I'm a terrible photographer when it comes to taking eye pictures. My hands are shaky and I'm not very good at making the camera focus well enough to pick up everything. I'm also not very good with eye make up, I just like sharing my love for make up haha. I thought one of my recent eyes of the day was pretty decent so I decided to share. In the picture above, I really do like how the camera managed to pick up the light reflecting off the base I used.

Something Cool+More

Sorry guys, I'll start updating more, it's just that I have enrolled in prep school for the summer to prepare for my senior year next year and it's been keeping me busy! Also blogger wouldn't let me upload my photos which is weird. I'll be updating a lot of posts from now on from posts which I was suppose to post in July but couldn't.

I was downtown a few days after the opening of the last Harry Potter movie (it was so good, I cried!) and when I was leaving at Union Station I saw a really cool vending machine!

It dispenses clothes! It's from Mark's Workhouse so it was women's clothes but it was still pretty cool. It had a lot of shirts in different sizes and designs rolled up inside it dispenses the clothes from the bottom. I thought it was a really cool concept. What if buying clothes in the future was like this? Since it was about 11PM at night I only got to take a quick picture on my phone and I didn't get to see how much the shirts cost but I still thought it was kind of cute.

I also went to see a permiere of Captain America the day before it came out. I did quite like the movie but my highlight was the 3D glasses they gave us. They were limited edition 3D glasses and they sure made me smile. I usually throw out my 3D glasses after a movie because I have no use for them after but these ones I kept!

They had red frames and were quite a fun upgrade from the normal ones that you get at the theatre!

This was just a random and non beauty related post, I just thought I'd share these two fun things with you guys!

Review: Neutrogena Anti Residue Shampoo

I've been experiencing some build up in my hair and it's been really bothering me because my hair feels a lot oilier and I feel the need to wash it more when I really shouldn't I heard about this shampoo on some other blogs so I decided to try it. I bought this at Shopper's Drug Mart for about $10 which is a little pricey, but considering the fact that it's only for once a week use, I believed that it would be worth it and last a while.

Right now since I don't use many products in my hair (only shampoo, conditioner and serum), I opted to use it once every 2 weeks instead of one. I've used it for about 2 months now and I use about a palm full on my chest length hair. My very first thought about it was that it smells really strong. At first I was overcome by the smell and although it's not entirely bad, it was really strong and I was taken aback at first. It smells a bit like medicine and does not lather as well as other shampoos I have used.

After I rinsed out the shampoo and used conditioner, my hair felt really clean. I couldn't feel any more build up in my hair. My hair usually gets oily in a day and my hair felt clean even after 2 days. I used it a few more times in the next few weeks and it hasn't made my scalp itchy or given me dandruff like some other shampoos do.

I really do recommend this product to anyone who uses a lot of hair products and feels build up in their hair often. It does what it's suppose to do really well although to anyone I recommend it to I will warn them about the smell!

Lip Gloss Dupe?

My favourite everyday lip is a nude lipstick with a cherry red gloss on top. It makes a nice peachy colour and that looks natural and it matches with almost everything. My favourite cherry red gloss was Kat Von D's Sheer Lightning Sheer Lip Gloss in Fierce Red but I can't find it online anymore and I believe it's been discontinued. The problem I had with this was that the tube kept leaking so I couldn't bring it around with me for touch ups anymore without making a mess. I have recently found a dupe for it in the Victoria's Secret Lip Gloss Beauty Rush in Dandy Cane. It's less sheer than the Kat Von D one but it smells really nice and is slightly cheaper (I bought the Kat Von D gloss for $10 on sale at Sephora and the Beauty Rush one for $7 at Victoria's Secret).

My only complaint is that the Beauty Rush Gloss is in a tube and I find it more sanitary to use a doe foot applicator than using the tube itself on my lips.
